Today in the newsletter: A dark day for democracy and the United States. New albums, new podcasts, and my latest radio show. An extra short newsletter this week!
But first… Democracy isn’t just handed to us. We need to educate everyone about the dangers of this president, his followers, and what could have happened last Wednesday. Democracy is delicate and it’s worth the fight. Never forget what happened and how close this country came to the meeting its demise and handing our adversaries everything they’ve ever wanted. It’s time to unite, but everyone involved in this needs to be arrested and there need to be consequences from the President and his administration to some members of Congress, military, police, and of course the rioters, trespassers, and agitators. Enough. ❤️
New Releases This Week:
Madlib Sound Ancestors (Madlib Invazion)
New beats, instrumentals, and abstract hip hop from one of the best in the game.
Steve Earle & The Dukes J.T. (New West Records)
This album is dedicated to his son, Justin Townes Earle, who passed away in 2020.
New Podcasts
Unshaming. A podcast founded on the belief that shame exists because representation doesn’t. You'll hear the stories of people ostracized from society, people who have hidden themselves due to fear of rejection, judgement, and violence — now loudly visible. You should listen if you are fascinated and inspired by the perseverance of the human spirit.
Bill Gates and Rashida Jones Ask Big Questions. Bill Gates teams up with actress & writer Rashida Jones to create a podcast that tackles some of the biggest questions facing us today—Is it too late to solve climate change? Does everybody lie? Is inequality inevitable?
